Safe implantation

First time in Kazakhstan !!! Since 2014!

Only for our patients, we offer safe implant placement aided through use of a surgical navigational template - of our own production!!!!

First time in Astana and only in Prestige Dental Clinic there is exclusive equipment and software for the implantation planning and printing of navigational templates using a 3D printer.

What is a navigational template?

The navigational template is a tray made of special plastic (in this case 3D-printed) with pre-planned holes. These holes allow to perform the navigation function for the fixture of implants in the required position.

The advantages of surgical implant templates

  1. One of the most important benefits is the safety of navigation!!! It allows to completely avoid injury of adjacent anatomical structures, such as the lower-jaw canal or maxillary sinuses.
  2. The procedure of implant placement takes less than 15-20 minutes (in the absence of other interventions). The implant is installed through a small hole. This procedure eliminates the need for large incisions and maximum exposure of the bone, which could lead to disruption of blood supply to the bone. With minimal incisions, or no incisions as such, the blood supply to the bone is not disrupted, thus making the process of implant integration easier and better.
  3. An implant is placed according to a strictly predetermined trajectory, which is planned with digital accuracy by the specialized program using CT-3D X-ray of jaws and electronic models.
  4. The ability to place an implant when there is a deficit of bone tissue, excluding additional interventions aimed at replenishing of bone tissue.
  5. It is not a traumatic procedure. Post-operation pain, swelling, and bruising is reduced to a minimum!
  6. And the final important advantage of using surgical templates is the maximum extension of the life of implants if the planning and installation were made at the highest level. The position of the implant is favorable for the distribution of masticatory load received from the crown. It eliminates the possibility of implant fracture.

How does this work

How does the treatment aided with the use of navigational surgical template work in the absence of the tooth? The dentist inspects the oral cavity and relying on the 3D X-ray assesses the situation. Then the dentist takes a dental impression which is further digitized and filled with plaster to create a reproduction (or casts) -models of jaws, which are placed in a special device called "articulator" for further evaluation.

After evaluation of the models and planning, the patient is offered various treatment options. After a treatment option is selected by the patient there is a deeper planning underway. Wax modeling of missing teeth or teeth that are subject to reconstruction is accurately done by specialists. The following steps are performed using a precise digital technologies.

Models of the jaws are scanned by 3D scanner and imported into the program, along with a 3D X-ray (CT). In this program, the doctor highlights important anatomical structures in order to avoid any injuries during the placement of the implant. In the next stage he places the crowns, and depending on their size and location, plans the future implant position. After getting the full surgery project, the dentist receives a digital model of the future template (navigator) and the hard copy of the surgery protocol.

In some cases it is possible to make temporary crowns or bridges in advance before the implantation, so that temporary crowns could be placed immediately after the surgery.

Dentist prints the digital model of the future template with using modern 3D printer right at the clinic, thereby saving time and getting affordable navigation template.

It is time for the surgery:
The navigational template is fixed, and implants are placed in the position strictly planned according to the pre-established protocol. The surgery takes about 15-20 minutes, more time is necessary if there is an additional manipulation required, for example, bone grafting.

The use of surgical templates eliminates the negative influence of the human factor, minimizes the duration of the procedure, ensuring maximum safety and comfort of implantation.
